Having established a footprint in Cape Town, Schalk has always been working towards expanding into the Johannesburg art market. Finding the right partner was essential and after many discussions, deliberations and hours of research, he finally found the perfect fit.

Art Eye Gallery in Johannesburg is a new vibrant, dynamic investment art and contemporary art space, which celebrates African artworks and sensibilities. Art Eye specialises in building collections, sourcing those rarely found, often-overlooked gems of yesteryear, with the development of young talent with passion. What attracted Schalk was the contemporary edge of the African pieces and the celebration of new emerging African talent.
